Practical answers, no brochurespeak.

Most likely, no. Citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, the EU, the USA, the UK and 60+ other countries enter visa-free for up to 60 days. Your passport simply needs 6 months of validity — and we'll still double-check your specific case when you book.

May to October for almost everything. High trekking passes like Ala-Kul open July through September, and the yurt camps on Son-Kul stand from June to early September. Winter belongs to ski touring and eagle festivals — a different, quieter magic.

The Kyrgyz som (KGS). Cards work fine in Bishkek and along the Issyk-Kul shore, but in the mountains cash is king — bring small notes for honey, kurut and handicrafts. ATMs are reliable in every city on our routes.

Cities and the Issyk-Kul shore have solid 4G/LTE (Megacom, Beeline, O!), and we hand you a local SIM on arrival. Son-Kul and the high valleys are mostly offline — our trek crews carry satellite contact, so you're off-grid but never out of reach.
